Here is some video of my piece from the candidacy show this past May. Pictures don't convey the feeling of standing within the massive, swaying installation. I have also enabled comments for those wishing to leave feedback.
Here's a preview of some new work I've been consumed by recently. It's a small departure from my previous work, which was almost entirely modeled from clay. This piece incorporates various materials other than ceramics, including live moss and actual wood (yes, actual wood!). There are more images in my portfolio of this work, and I will be adding new images of this piece as soon as I can arrange time for photos. Hope you enjoy it. Also, I've been tossing around the idea of enabling comments on my site to hear your feedback.
I want to share with everyone the poster for Into the Woods, a group show curated by Nancy Golden that I have the pleasure of being involved with this January. The show will run from January 2nd to January 31st at Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York. The show will feature work by 3 other artist, Aylson Markell, Richard Barlow and Tom Goldenburg, who's work also revolves around themes involving nature. I will post images of the final installed show once it opens.
As promised, I have some images from Inyo to share. What a truly amazing place! 10,000 feet above sea level with my new wife Marta Finkelstein, myself and trees that range in age from 100's to 1,000's of years old. Over the course of 4 hours and 4 miles, we only encountered 5 other people and 2 wonderful dogs. I don't think words can describe the peacefulness and tranquility from being in such an isolated and beautiful location.
As I assume you've noticed, there have been some significant updates to the site. While most of the changes are cosmetic, I have taken the time to add some new images of recent work to the portfolio which I hope you will enjoy. As promised, after countless hours of organizing and editing images (thanks largely to my wife), I will begin posting our Inyo trip.
Open Studio this weekend! My fiance and I will be host an open studio this Saturday from 5pm-10pm. If your in the neighborhood, feel free to come visit and see some of our work. There will some work for sale along with free snacks and drinks!
